AnglerIQ Artificial Intelligence Output Disclaimer
Effective September 9, 2026
AnglerIQ uses artificial intelligence to generate a lot of what you see. This document tells you where, and tells you honestly what that output is worth.
This disclaimer is part of our Terms of Service and is incorporated into them.
1. You Are Interacting With Software
The AI guide is a computer program. It is not a person, not a licensed guide, not a biologist, and not a game warden. It has no license, no credential, and no authority.
It does not know your skill level, your boat, your gear, the actual conditions where you are standing, or whether you are safe. It only knows what has been sent to it.
2. Where AI Is Used
- AI guide chat. Answers questions and gives advice in conversation.
- Bait and lure recommendations. Suggests what to throw based on conditions and patterns.
- Zone ranking and zone scans. Ranks areas of water by predicted productivity.
- Bite forecasts and condition reports. Predicts activity from weather, water, and seasonal data.
- Photo based species identification. Looks at a photo and guesses the species.
- Regulation research. Reads publicly available sources and summarizes what appear to be the applicable rules.
3. What AI Output Is
EVERY AI GENERATED OUTPUT IN ANGLERIQ IS AN ESTIMATE OR A PREDICTION. IT IS NOT A GUARANTEE, A PROMISE, A WARRANTY, OR PROFESSIONAL ADVICE OF ANY KIND.
AI systems produce answers by finding patterns in data. They can be wrong. They can be confidently wrong, which is worse, because a wrong answer delivered in a confident tone reads exactly like a right one. They can also be out of date, because the data behind them has a cutoff and conditions change by the hour.
No human at AnglerIQ reviews AI output before you see it. There is no editorial layer between the model and your screen.
4. Specific Warnings
4.1 Bait and lure recommendations
These are suggestions based on patterns. Fish do not read the pattern. A recommendation is not a prediction that you will catch anything, and following one is not a substitute for your own judgment on the water.
4.2 Zone rankings and scans
A highly ranked zone is a guess about where fish may be. It is not a statement that fish are there, that the water is safe, that the water is navigable, that you can legally access it, or that you have the right to be there. A zone ranking says nothing about depth, hazards, current, ice, structure, or private ownership.
4.3 Forecasts and conditions
DO NOT MAKE SAFETY DECISIONS BASED ON ANGLERIQ. FOR WEATHER, WATER, MARINE, AND STORM INFORMATION THAT YOUR SAFETY DEPENDS ON, USE THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE, THE UNITED STATES COAST GUARD, AND OFFICIAL LOCAL SOURCES.
Our forecasts are built from third party data and modeled predictions. They can be stale, incomplete, or simply wrong. Conditions on water change fast and change locally.
4.4 Species identification
Photo identification is a guess from an image. Lighting, angle, water, and the condition of the fish all affect it. Similar species are routinely confused, and some look nearly identical to a camera.
This matters legally. Size limits, bag limits, seasons, and protected status are species specific. If the AI misidentifies a fish and you keep it on that basis, you may be in violation. Confirm the species yourself before you keep anything, and when you are not certain, release it.
4.5 Regulation summaries
The AI researches publicly available sources to summarize seasons, limits, and rules. Those sources can be outdated, incomplete, or misread. Emergency closures, in season adjustments, water body specific exceptions, and local ordinances frequently do not appear in them at all.
NEVER RELY ON AN AI GENERATED REGULATION SUMMARY. CONFIRM CURRENT RULES WITH THE STATE WILDLIFE AGENCY THAT HAS JURISDICTION BEFORE YOU FISH. SEE OUR SEPARATE FISHING, WILDLIFE, AND PRIVATE PROPERTY DISCLAIMER.
5. What Gets Sent to the AI Provider
When you use an AI feature, we send your message text, relevant context about the water and weather, and any photo you attach to our third party AI provider so it can generate a response.
Under our agreement with that provider, your data is not used to train its models.
Do not send anything to the AI guide that you would not want processed by a third party. Do not send personal information about other people, and do not send anything confidential.
6. Affiliate Links in AI Recommendations
When the AI guide recommends bait or gear, we may include a retailer link that earns us a commission if you buy through it. It costs you nothing extra.
The commission does not influence what the AI recommends. The recommendation is generated first. The link is attached after. We do not weight the model toward products that pay us more, and we do not accept payment to promote a specific product inside an AI response.
7. Your Responsibility
You are responsible for what you do with AI output. Before you act on anything the AI tells you, confirm it against an authoritative source. That means the state wildlife agency for rules, the National Weather Service for weather, official charts for navigation, and the landowner or land manager for access.
Use your own judgment. If the AI tells you something that does not match what you are looking at, trust what you are looking at.
8. No Warranty
AI FEATURES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITH NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT AI OUTPUT IS ACCURATE, CURRENT, COMPLETE, RELIABLE, OR FIT FOR ANY PURPOSE. THE LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY IN OUR TERMS OF SERVICE APPLY IN FULL TO AI FEATURES.
9. Reporting a Problem
If the AI tells you something wrong, especially about a regulation, a species, or a boundary, please tell us at support@angleriqapp.com. That feedback is how the product gets better and it helps the next angler.
