AnglerIQ Terms of Service
Effective September 9, 2026
1. Who We Are and What This Covers
AnglerIQ is operated by AnglerIQ Inc., a Texas corporation ("AnglerIQ," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the AnglerIQ mobile application, our website, and any related features and services (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, downloading the app, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You can reach us at support@angleriqapp.com.
2. You Must Be 18
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Service. The Service is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to register.
We collect precise location data as a core part of how the Service works, and the Service includes public profiles, a community feed, and photo sharing. Those features are not appropriate for minors and several state laws restrict them. If we learn that an account holder is under 18, we will close the account and delete the associated data.
By using the Service you represent that you are 18 or older, that you can enter into a binding contract, and that you are not barred from using the Service under United States law.
3. The Service Is a Planning Aid, Not an Authority
AnglerIQ gives you information to help you plan a fishing trip. That includes water and zone information, bait suggestions, weather and bite forecasts, species information, fishing regulations such as seasons and size limits, public land layers, and private property and parcel boundary layers.
ALL OF THAT INFORMATION IS AN ESTIMATE OR A CONVENIENCE COPY OF SOMEONE ELSE’S DATA. IT IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE, IT IS NOT AN OFFICIAL RECORD, AND IT IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR CHECKING WITH THE AGENCY OR LANDOWNER WITH ACTUAL AUTHORITY.
You are solely responsible for confirming the following before you fish, every time:
- The current fishing regulations that apply where you are, including open and closed seasons, size and bag limits, gear restrictions, and species specific rules.
- That you hold every license, permit, tag, or stamp required for that water, that species, and that method.
- Whether the land or water you intend to access is public, and whether you have permission to be there.
- Conditions, weather, water levels, and whether it is safe to go.
Property boundary lines shown in the Service are approximate. They come from third party parcel data and are not a survey. Do not rely on them to decide whether you are standing on someone else’s land. Trespassing carries civil and in some states criminal consequences, and a boundary dispute in the field can become dangerous. When in doubt, stay off and ask.
Our separate Fishing, Wildlife, and Private Property Disclaimer is part of these Terms and is incorporated by reference.
4. AI Features
Parts of the Service use artificial intelligence. That includes the AI guide chat, zone ranking and scanning, forecasts, photo based species identification, and automated research of publicly available regulations.
AI output is a prediction. It is generated by software analyzing patterns in data. It is not verified by a human before you see it, it can be wrong, and it can be confidently wrong. Bait recommendations, zone rankings, condition forecasts, species identifications, and regulation summaries are all estimates. None of them is a guarantee.
When you send a message or a photo to the AI guide, that content and relevant context about the water and weather is sent to our third party AI provider to generate a response. Our Privacy Policy explains this. Do not send anything to the AI guide that you would not want processed by a third party.
Our separate AI Output Disclaimer is part of these Terms and is incorporated by reference.
5. Your Account
You create an account through our identity provider using an email address and password, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account.
Give us accurate information and keep it current. Do not share your account, do not sell it, and do not let someone else use it. Tell us promptly at support@angleriqapp.com if you think your account has been compromised.
You may close your account at any time in Settings. Closing your account is not the same as canceling a paid subscription. See section 7.
6. Free Tier and AnglerIQ Pro
6.1 What the free tier includes
The free version of AnglerIQ includes catch logging, the explore map, nearby spots, bite forecasts, and AI guide chat. We may change what the free tier includes. If we materially reduce it, we will tell you in advance.
6.2 What AnglerIQ Pro includes
AnglerIQ Pro includes everything in the free tier plus AI zone scans and in lake maps, the trip planner, regional tournaments and monthly leagues, and offline water map downloads.
6.3 Pricing
AnglerIQ Pro is offered on two plans:
- Monthly. $9.99 per month, with a 7 day free trial for new subscribers.
- Annual. $59.99 per year, with a 7 day free trial for new subscribers.
Prices are in United States dollars and do not include taxes, which may be added at purchase depending on where you are.
7. Subscription Terms, Auto Renewal, Trials, and Cancellation
This section is important. Please read all of it before you subscribe.
7.1 Apple handles the billing
AnglerIQ Pro is sold through Apple In App Purchase. Apple charges your Apple ID, holds your payment method, and manages your subscription. We never see or store your card number.
7.2 The free trial converts to a paid subscription automatically
IF YOU START A 7 DAY FREE TRIAL AND DO NOT CANCEL BEFORE IT ENDS, YOUR SUBSCRIPTION WILL AUTOMATICALLY BECOME A PAID SUBSCRIPTION AND YOUR APPLE ID WILL BE CHARGED THE PRICE OF THE PLAN YOU SELECTED. YOU WILL THEN BE CHARGED AGAIN AT THE START OF EACH RENEWAL PERIOD UNTIL YOU CANCEL.
Free trials are for new subscribers only. One trial per person. If you have used a trial before, you may be charged immediately.
7.3 Auto renewal
AnglerIQ Pro renews automatically. A monthly plan renews every month. An annual plan renews every year. Renewal happens unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the then current period. Apple charges your Apple ID within 24 hours before each renewal.
7.4 How to cancel
You cancel through your Apple ID subscription settings. On your device, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, select AnglerIQ, and tap Cancel Subscription. You can also cancel from the App Store app.
We also provide a direct link to your subscription settings inside the AnglerIQ app on the account screen, so you can get there in the same number of taps it took to subscribe.
Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. Closing your AnglerIQ account does not cancel your subscription. You must cancel through Apple.
If you cancel, you keep Pro access through the end of the period you already paid for. It does not renew after that.
7.5 Renewal reminders and price changes
For annual subscriptions we will send you a reminder before your renewal date. The reminder will identify the subscription, tell you the renewal date and the amount, and tell you how to cancel.
If we change the price of your plan, we will give you advance notice with the new price and the date it takes effect, and you will have a chance to cancel before it applies to you. A price increase does not take effect for you unless you continue the subscription after receiving that notice.
7.6 Refunds
Because Apple processes the payment, Apple handles refunds under its own policies. Request a refund through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue a refund for an Apple In App Purchase ourselves. If you think something went wrong, write to us at support@angleriqapp.com anyway and we will help where we can.
7.7 Restore purchases
If you reinstall the app or move to a new device, use Restore Purchases on any paywall screen to restore your subscription. It is available on every paywall.
8. Your Content
8.1 You own it
You keep ownership of what you post. That includes catch photos and details, profile photos, notes, trip plans, comments, tournament entries, and messages you send to the AI guide. We call all of that "Your Content."
8.2 The license you give us
You give us a non exclusive, worldwide, royalty free license to host, store, copy, reformat, display, and distribute Your Content, but only for the purposes of operating, improving, and promoting the Service, and only consistent with the visibility setting you chose for that content.
If you set a catch to Private, we do not display it publicly. If you set it to Followers, we display it to your followers. If you set it to Public, we display the general area and not your exact coordinates.
This license ends when you delete the content or close your account, except that copies may persist in backups for a period, and anonymized aggregate data that no longer identifies you or your specific catch location may remain.
8.3 What you promise about Your Content
You promise that you own Your Content or have the right to post it, that it does not infringe anyone’s rights, and that posting it does not break any law.
8.4 We can remove content
We may remove content or restrict an account if we believe it violates these Terms or the law, or if it creates risk for other users. We are not obligated to monitor content and we do not promise to review everything posted.
9. Rules for Using the Service
Do not do any of the following:
- Break any fishing, wildlife, boating, trespass, or other law, or use the Service to help someone else do so.
- Post content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, or that impersonates someone else.
- Post someone else’s private information, including the location of their private property or their home.
- Falsify catch data, manipulate tournament or league results, or use more than one account to gain an advantage.
- Scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk download data from the Service, or use automated tools to access it.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the app, except where that restriction is not enforceable under applicable law.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service or any data from it.
- Interfere with the Service, probe it for vulnerabilities, or get around any security or rate limiting measure.
- Use the Service to identify, locate, or approach a specific person.
10. Tournaments, Leagues, and the Community Feed
AnglerIQ Pro includes regional tournaments and monthly leagues. There is no separate entry fee. Participation is included with your subscription.
We set the rules for each tournament or league, including eligibility, scoring, verification, and how ties are broken. We may disqualify an entry that we believe is falsified, that was obtained illegally, or that violates these Terms. Our decisions on scoring and eligibility are final.
Do not submit a catch that was taken out of season, over or under a legal limit, from water you were not permitted to fish, or by a method that is not legal where you were.
The community feed is user generated. We do not verify what other users post. Treat catch reports, spot information, and advice from other users the same way you would treat advice from a stranger at a boat ramp.
11. Our Intellectual Property and Your License to Use the App
We own the Service. That includes the app, the website, the AnglerIQ name and logo, the software, the models, the aggregated data, the design, and everything we create. Third party data and content we license remains owned by those third parties.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non exclusive, non transferable, revocable license to install and use one copy of the app on a device you own or control, for your own non commercial recreational use. That is the whole license. Everything not expressly granted is reserved.
Our separate Copyright and Ownership Notices document lists the third party sources we use and their attribution requirements, and is incorporated by reference.
12. App Store Terms
You obtained the app from the Apple App Store. As between us and Apple, we are solely responsible for the app and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide any support or maintenance for the app.
If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to the app, including product liability claims, any claim that the app fails to conform to a legal requirement, and any claim under consumer protection or similar law.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance Apple has the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third party beneficiary.
13. Third Party Services and Links
The Service relies on third party providers for maps, land and parcel data, weather, species information, account management, payments, analytics, and AI. It may also include links to third party websites, including retailer links for gear recommended by the AI guide.
We participate in affiliate programs. If you buy something through a link in the Service, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. That commission does not change what the AI recommends.
We do not control third party services and we are not responsible for their content, their products, or their privacy practices. Your dealings with them are between you and them.
14. Changes, Suspension, and Termination
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service. If a change materially reduces functionality you are paying for, we will give you advance notice and you may cancel.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if your use creates risk to other users or to us. Where practical we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections 3, 4, 8.2, 9, 11, 15, 16, 17, and 18 survive termination.
15. Disclaimers and Limits on Our Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR FREE, OR THAT ANY REGULATION, BOUNDARY, WEATHER, SPECIES, OR AI GENERATED INFORMATION IS ACCURATE, CURRENT, OR COMPLETE.
FISHING AND BEING ON OR NEAR WATER INVOLVE RISK OF INJURY AND DEATH. YOU ASSUME THAT RISK. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR SAFETY DECISIONS.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS.
Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. If you live in one of those states, some of the above may not apply to you, and you may have additional rights. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
16. Disputes, Arbitration, and Class Action Waiver
Please read this section carefully. It affects how you can bring a claim against us.
16.1 Talk to us first
Before starting a formal proceeding, send us a written notice at support@angleriqapp.com describing the problem and what you want. We will do the same for you. Give us 60 days to work it out. Most things get resolved here.
16.2 Arbitration
If we cannot resolve it, you and we agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section.
Where the arbitration happens. The location of any in person hearing will be determined under the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules. Either you or we may elect to conduct the arbitration by video conference or by telephone instead of in person. Where the amount in dispute allows it under the AAA rules, the arbitration may be decided on written submissions alone, with no hearing at all.
Small claims court. You may bring an individual claim in small claims court instead of arbitration if the claim qualifies for that court. Nothing in this section prevents that.
16.3 No class actions
YOU AND WE EACH AGREE TO BRING CLAIMS ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY. NEITHER OF US MAY BRING A CLASS ACTION, A COLLECTIVE ACTION, OR A REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING, AND THE ARBITRATOR MAY NOT CONSOLIDATE CLAIMS OR PRESIDE OVER ANY FORM OF CLASS PROCEEDING.
If this class action waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim will be severed and heard in court, and the rest of this section still applies to all other claims.
16.4 You can opt out
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days after you first accept these Terms. Send an email to support@angleriqapp.com with the subject line "Arbitration Opt Out" and include your name and the email on your account. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
16.5 Exceptions
Either of us may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property rights or to stop unauthorized access to the Service.
17. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. For any dispute not subject to arbitration, you and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.
Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of any mandatory consumer protection law of the state where you live. If you live in California, your rights under California law are preserved.
18. Other Terms
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Geolocation Collection and Consent Disclosure, the AI Output Disclaimer, the Fishing, Wildlife, and Private Property Disclaimer, and the Copyright and Ownership Notices, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. If we make a material change, we will post the updated Terms with a new effective date and give you notice in the app or by email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the Service and cancel your subscription through Apple.
